It was a hard fought tournament (literally sometimes!) but both of our teams got eliminated from the second round, albeit on penalties! well done guys, next time the following personnel are banned from taking penalties (HEHEH) - Vinod, Anand, Rush, Kanna! and Sasi, congrats on being the first player to be sent off in the tournament, and also 5mins upon actually coming on!

condolences to Mahen and his family..

I am going to sabari malai on the 13th of March so i won't be around for the week.. take care all of you and keep the passion burning. Will pray for all of u.. Swami Saranam!

Game 6 - Lucky Us!

Team Vasantham - 3 (Saravanan Ayavoo 2, Prakash)
Dazzlers - 3
It was supposed to be against Stanford but they pulled out last minute and our opponents had to be arranged in the elevnth hour. Ganesh, Rashid and Prakash played for them in the first half and myself and Sasi with Ganesh played for the opponents in the 2nd half.. unfortunatley it was a game that we should have won comfortably but we went ahead to make a mess of it. When Rush is not around, we seem to be lacking creativity and try to use our speedy wingers.. they deserved the draw as they had to play at least 30 minutes with only 9 men and gave us a nightmare in the closing stages. I think we need to be more clinical infront of goal.. if not for4 Selvam who pulled off saves after saves, i think we could have been humiliated by 9 men! Also we had last minute pull-outs from our team as well, without finding replacements. Sorry guys, but just want to inform you all that i too have a lot of work to do but still turn up because i enjoy playing football and especially with you guys. just a matter of making time..and you know there is money involved in the booking of referee and field. I am not calling for new players because i think our squad is settled but pullouts are going to cause disruption. Please let me know whether you can make it at least 3 days before so that we don't turn up inadequate on the field...
MOTM - Selvam (Goalkeeper) - some really outstanding saves kept us in the game.

Eventhough we went behind really early, once anand got into his groove, we were awesome in the 1st half. only one goal in the second half, we should however take ote that we conceded three.. overall well done boys!
